Autism Spectrum Disorder: Across the Lifespan
This workshop will cover the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), statistics and myths regarding autism and the new criteria to diagnosis under the DSM V TR. We will delve into the most recent theories on the causes and contributing/risk factors for autism. We will provide some ASD screening instruments and how to prepare/send someone for testing. We will address what a comprehensive psychological evaluation for autism should include. We will review the most common co-occurring diagnoses. We will cover Evidence-Based and Best Practice Treatments and Interventions for different ages. We will provide case samples for participants to discuss diagnoses and treatment options. Finally, a list of resources will be provided.
