Behavioral Boundaries: Making the “Right Choices”
(Ages 5-10)
Tuesdays 3:45-4:30
The focus of this group will be to discuss, model, and role play the “right choices” in social skills. Children will learn to develop routines, learn communication skills, understand and express emotions appropriately, and learn to set and respect boundaries. We will also introduce and discuss managing anger. Children will learn age specific strategies to enhance behavioral management through boundaries and communication skills.
Friendship and Bullying
(Ages 7 & up)
Tuesdays 4:45-5:30
Bullying is rampant in our society today. What is bullying? How do you know what is a good friendship? This group will focus on the development of skills to improve self confidence, communication and methods to effectively handle bullying as well as how to develop healthy friendships which can be a safeguard against bullying. Role-playing to help your child learn how to handle real life bullying situations as well as role-playing on engaging others to develop friendships will also be a part of this group. We will explore types of bullying, including cyber bullying.
Preschooler’s Social/Communication Skills
(Ages 2-5)
Wednesdays 4:45-5:30 p.m.
The group focuses on basic social and communication skills, facial cues, and friendship skills that can be applied through play dates, taking turns, sharing, and saying sorry. Children will also learn how to manage behavior in school (listening to the teacher, not interrupting, hands to self, library/playground behavior, and self-calming) and during community outings (grocery store, mall, doctor/dentist, getting a haircut, etc.).
“CALMS” = Calming Anxiety and Learning how to Manage Stress
(Ages 7-12)
Wednesdays 4:45-5:30
Worries. Fears. Nightmares. Self-Doubt. This is what anxiety or low self-esteem may look like for your child. This group focuses on learning emotional strength through calmness and kindness to self. This group will teach self-calming methods to improve integration of big muscles with other senses. Activities such as yoga, basic Tai Chi moves, breathing techniques, progressive muscle relaxation, and imagery will be used. We will also incorporate movement activities that improve body awareness, self-regulation, self-esteem, coordination, and promote overall physical well-being.
CALMS for Teens
(Ages 13 & up)
Thursdays 5:00-5:45
Overwhelmed, stressed, irritable, fearful, nervous, sad, lying awake at night. This is what anxiety or low self-esteem may look like for your teen. With growing pressures of schoolwork, social media, romantic relationships, friendships, sports and extracurricular activities, recent research suggests that teens are reporting higher levels of stress during the school year than adults. This group focuses on learning emotional strength through calmness and kindness to self by implementing mindfulness, physical activity (such as yoga, basic Tai Chi moves), social problem-solving, conflict resolution skills and healthy eating and sleep habits. Breathing techniques, progressive muscle relaxation, and imagery will be used in this group to promote healthy self-esteem, reduce anxiety and increase empowerment.

**Your child must be registered to attend.**
